A concept art project working from source text Variations on an Apple by Yoon Ha Lee, a “space opera retake on The Iliad, from Paris’ point of view”.

I read this short story by Yoon Ha Lee a few years ago but made such a lasting impression with it’s abstract yet intriguing descriptions and wonderful sci-fi twist on Greek mythology that I was eager to test myself by creating designs for it. I aimed to create sleek designs that distilled historical Greek clothing down to their barest elemts and recognisable sihlouettes. I also used Greek patterns as a basis for sci-fi circuitry and as details on the clothing.
