Herald
An interactive narrative project with strong historical basis. Combining the folklore and motifs of heraldic beasts, Tudor clothing and modern fashion influences, these character designs represent nine of the different heraldic beasts found in the royal courts of the 16th and 17th centuries. This project aims to embrace androgyny and fluidity in character designs, as well as taking a more critical lens in reviewing the source material and the current connotations of the heraldic symbols. Below are some of the designs as well as a video demonstration of the final handmade concept art book.
